What does training in ethics add ?

Abstract : The practice of speech language therapy is a practice of care whose object is language and communication and which is essentially supported by language. The ethical questioning accompanies the speech therapy clinic in all its fields and at the different moments of the care. This works as a methodology for the problems encountered in the speech therapy clinic, specific to each situation, to each patient. In the world of health, scientific, legal, relational and social issues have evolved. Ethical reflection tries to structure questioning. It must be engaged as soon as clinicians are trained. Indeed, ethics presupposes an inherent deliberation in the clinic. Faced with the question of what is clinical knowledge, we have developed training in ethics in order to offer practitioners a better understanding of the different issues in order to best respond to patients’requests for care with our identity as speech language therapist knowing that the teaching of ethics is part of the initial training since the reform of the studies at the master level.
